Special auto supplement

Special auto supplement

19.11.2008

The Korrespondent covers the automobile in a special supplement. The market is in crisis for automakers. But for buyers, these are the good days. Bargains can be had as prices decline. All the news from 2008, good and bad, can be found in Korrespondent-Drive.

In Issue No. 45, which comes out Nov. 22, Korrespondent's special auto supplement covers the most difficult year in the history of the Ukrainian car market. It began optimistically, with experts predicting record sales of 500,000 automobiles. It never came to pass. After the world financial crisis broke out in mid-September, it became clear that the 500,000 mark would not be reached. Banks tightened credit. Since most cars in Ukraine are bought on credit, sales slumped. Meanwhile, the dollar went up rapidly against the hryvnia.

But while price discounts provide a silver lining for consumers with cash or credit, what will happen in the future? In Korrespondent-Drive, the nation's top newsmagazine forecasts the trends. How long will the discount period last?

The special supplement also looks at the most popular cars and interviews industry experts. Readers can also find the latest news on the most dynamically developing and popular class of modern cars - all in Korrespondent!
